FAQ's
ARE MY STRUGGLES TOO MINOR FOR THERAPY?
Nope! There’s no specific level of struggle that makes your concerns “too minor” to reach out for professional support. Everyone deals with challenges, and therapy can help you become more resilient and handle whatever comes your way, no matter how you perceive the severity of your situation.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THERAPY?
Sometimes, the process can feel uncomfortable. Reflecting on difficult events and feelings can cause strong emotions, such as anger, sadness, or anxiety. There are no quick fixes. Many people find that exploring these feelings leads to new energy and self-compassion. I cannot guarantee you will change your situation or behavior. I will support you, try to understand you, help you notice patterns, and work with you on your goals.
ARE THERE ISSUES YOU DON'T TREAT?
Yes. Matching clinical skills to why someone seeks counseling is crucial, and all therapists have areas of expertise. I don't treat trauma (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD), personality disorders (BPD), or spectrum disorders. All my clients must be at an outpatient level of care. If you need a higher level of care or referrals, I'll recommend them.
WHEN WILL I START TO FEEL BETTER?
Most clients notice after the first few sessions:
-
A better understanding of themselves
-
Learn practical ways to make changes
-
Feel more empowered to make positive choices
-
Become more self-aware
-
Develop effective coping strategies
IS THERE HUMOR IN THERAPY?
Yes! Therapy is rarely associated with humor because it often feels like serious business, but laughter is welcome.

Life can sometimes feel like our own Shakespearean tragedy, but finding levity helps us get through tough times. Humor can enhance sessions by offering new perspectives, reducing anxiety, building trust, and helping us feel understood as we navigate this shared human experience.
ARE YOU A THERAPIST WHO SEES OTHER THERAPISTS?
Yes! I am a therapist who works with therapists as clients. We cannot serve others if we are burnt out professionally or personally. Even as therapists, we are first and foremost, human!
WHAT IF I WANT TO WORK WITH A DIFFERENT COUNSELOR?
If you ever feel like things aren't progressing or you don't feel a connection, that is completely ok!

It's crucial that you feel comfortable, build rapport, and form an emotional connection with your counselor. If there is a mismatch, I don't take it personally and can suggest other providers who might be a better fit.

What matters most is that you get the support you need, whether it's with me or someone else.
HOW LONG DOES THERAPY LAST?
Therapy does not require a large time investment; duration depends on your needs. Most clients notice greater self-awareness, improved coping skills, and clearer thinking after a few sessions.
Sessions last about 50 minutes. We usually meet every other week at first. Later, we may space out sessions or finish our work together.
WHEN ARE YOU AVAILABLE?
